Round 7 & Round 8Gogebic Community College Ironwood XC ChampionshipPresented by Gogebic Community CollegeIronwood, MIMarch 20-21, 2027We are very excited to extend our partnership with Gogebic Community College and their ski hill management program to host the Cor PowerSports series championship weekend at Mt Zion in Ironwood, MI. The event is titled “Gogebic Community College Ironwood XC Snowmobile National Championship.”
Gogebic Community College's Ski Area Management Program is among the most extensive training programs nationwide for those seeking careers in the snow sports industry. It blends technical and academic coursework with hands-on internships at major resorts across the country. Students spend their first year and the initial eight weeks of their sophomore year taking prerequisite classes. During this time, the Mt. Zion Recreation Complex serves as a training facility. Mt. Zion, a winter sport complex owned and operated by the college, is situated on campus and available to the public.
Hosting races serves as a training tool for these students and also generates funding for the Ski Area Management program, as all proceeds from concession sales will go directly toward supporting the program's budget. Many students enrolled in the Ski Area Management program will be involved in various capacities during the event.
Course routing will make use of as much of the Mt Zion ski area and cross-country ski trails as possible; the exact course layout will be finalized approximately two weeks before the event.
Gate admission will be $10 per day / $15 for weekend pass
