Registration opened this past Monday for the Ottertail 100. We want to clarify registration for Team Class and how that format will work-
Registration:
On the registration form (see screenshot below), the Team Class is listed; this fee is for the team; only one rider needs to select Team on their registration form.

Near the bottom of the registration form above the signature section (see screenshot below), there is a place to list the rider number and name of the partner; BOTH riders need to list on the form who they will be racing with so we can tie the two riders together in the scoring system as the Team riders.

Format:
At Ottertail, the Team class will be the final race of the day, and the first rider will stage their sled at the Team race starting location. This will be a Lemans-style start, all the sleds will be lined up, and the racer running the first leg will be approximately 50’ behind the sleds.
On green, the riders will run to their sleds, start them, and complete 2 laps. At the end of the first 2 laps, there will be a rider exchange at the same place where the start was located. The first rider will come to a complete stop at the official, then run to their awaiting teammate and tag them. Once the first rider tags the second rider, the second rider will complete 2 laps. The winning team will be the first to cross the finish line, as this is a heads-up race format.
Awards:
There will be awards for the top 3 teams, a payout for the top 3 teams if fewer than 9 teams, or the top 5 teams if more than 10 teams.
There will also be a year-end points championship for the Team class; it has to be the same team members all season to qualify for the championship.
Sleds:
Any sled that qualifies for the Stock or Factory classes is eligible to compete in the Team class.
Riders:
Any combination of riders, but only 1 Pro level rider per team. Junior 8-12 Transition or Junior 10-13 riders are not eligible to compete in this class
For terrain style races like Heartland 200 and Goodridge / Grygla I-500 the team will need to declare at rider check-in whose time will count on Day 1 and Day 2.
Registration for the Ottertail 100 closes at 6pm on Wednesday January 7th so get signed up today!!
