Racer Information Tech

As we prepare for the upcoming season, we are instituting a new database of racers, classes, and items needed for tech.

We have been working with tech personnel to develop these new interactive inspection forms for pre-tech and post-tech, and feedback has been positive.

Today, we sent the Racer Information Tech form to a couple of racers to test for us. It worked as designed, and feedback was that it was simple to use.

We are now sending this Racer Information Tech form to everyone for completion. This information will be used for the pre-tech form database. One of the items in this Racer Tech Form is your machine's VIN number. If you end up needing to change sleds later in the year, notify tech staff of the new VIN, and we will update the records.

Procedures for pre-tech will remain the same. Come to pre-tech with all of your safety gear and the snowmobile. At pre-tech, the tech personnel will go through the checklist of required items; these items are mandatory to compete in the Cor PowerSports Race series. If you have an item on this pre-tech form that does not pass, you will need to correct the issue before passing pre-tech.

Here are the items that are part of pre-tech:

  • Headlight
  • Taillight
  • Brake light
  • Tether
  • Secondary kill switch
  • Shin pads
  • Helmet (Snell M2020, Snell M2025, or ECE 22.06)
  • Safety vest
  • Safety orange – coat
  • Snow flap
  • Race numbers (Black / White or White / Black on side of sled and hi vis yellow on windshield)
  • Transponder mounted
  • 2 Cor PowerSports logos on sled

During this pre-tech process, we will also take a picture of your helmet and your race legal coat.

As soon as you clear pre-tech and post-tech, the racer will receive an email with the inspection form and any notes the Tech staff have entered.

We appreciate your help in getting this information to us. This new system will help with the tech process and improve transparency of tech findings for the racers themselves.

We need all racers to click this link to the Pre Snowmobile Race Inspection Form and enter their information. If you race in more than one class or more than one snowmobile, we will need a separate submission for each.

We will be on-site in Ottertail, MN, next Monday to check ice conditions and will post an update on social media.
