Okoboji 100 update

As we are in the final week of preparations for the opening round this coming weekend at the Gerald Dyrdahl Pine Lake Memorial race we received some news today; conditions for the Okoboji 100 are short of where we anticipated to be at this time and with the event only two weeks away we are forced to delay the event one week until January 22-23, 2022.

We have all seen the unseasonable weather so far for this winter and Okoboji has been hit just the same, just over a week ago the area saw above normal temps and high winds which unfortunately opened up the ice cap the lake had and forced the lake to start over. In that time they have had some cold days making ice again so we had asked for an updated report to get an idea of where we are at. With the drop dead decision date for the Jan 15-16 race looming it was clear we need more time to know for sure that we will have safe ice conditions for the event.

We have spoken to Arrowwood Resort and all rooms booked under the Okoboji 100 room block have already been changed to the new event date weekend.

We appreciate everyone's support as we deal with the ever changing weather, the decision for this change this early was to give everyone as much advance notice as possible adjust their schedules.

Registration for the Pine Lake event closes Dec 29 at 6pm, any registrations that come in after that deadline will be assessed a $25 late fee.
