We were onsite at Pinehurst Resort on Friday and found great ice conditions, with the temperatures forecasted this coming week we anticipate that all pit parking will be on lake.
There will be parking available on land if we need to use it.
The February 24-25 race weekend we will be the only event happening on North Twin Lake as the Nightriders moved the kids races to February 17-18 to ease the number of trailers for parking.
For the February 24-25 race weekend everyone MUST stay out of the area to the west on the lake where the radar runs are located, they will not be running on the February weekend but we need to protect that ice for the Snodeo weekend in March.
On Friday we found minimal patchy snow but the ice did have some rough areas, what we are looking to do if snow coverage is patchy still will be to plow the race course. Again the ice IS NOT smooth so plan accordingly.
The Snodeo 200 race weekend is March 2-3, that will be the normal Snodeo event but without the KC Pro kids; the radar runs will still happen on the west end of the lake where we did not ride for the February race date.
The race course will be approximately 12 miles in length, only Pro Open and Pro Factory will have a mandatory fuel stop. The course for the second weekend will be similar to the race route from the first weekend with adjustments made to avoid any areas of concern or ice deterioration from the first race weekend.
With the weather we have been dealing with this year we are grateful for the help from the Naytahwaush Nightriders and Pinehurst Resort staff not just to get the normal Snodeo event in but offering to host a second event!
Race registration is open for what we have named the Nightriders 200 for February 24-25, 2024 as well as the annual Snodeo 200 March 2-3, 2024.
