Heartland 200 race update

We were on-site in Park Rapids today, checking ice and access conditions and updating the race route.

When we met this week as a group, one of the topics was race route. We have heard you, and even though the lake course has been very similar for the past 8+ years for Fish Hook, we are going to make some changes.

This is a tentative course route we worked out today based on TODAY’S conditions and icehouse locations. There are a significant number of ice houses in front of the pit area, but we are going to look at moving some of the pits so we can work on additional course routing near the pits.

Again, this is a TENTATIVE map based on what was out on the lake today. There were 40+ mph winds and blowing snow, so the plan is to have plow trucks clear the course of any drifting. Also, ice conditions are very good, with minimal bumps out there, and it is hard, clear ice. This route is 10.3 miles, and we will aim to keep it very close to 10 miles as we finalize the exact route next week.

Also, while at the Chamber of Commerce in Park Rapids, we saw the 2023 Heartland 200 neon sign for Zach Herfindahl and the 2025 sign for Dan Revering. The Heartland 200 committee will present both riders with their signs at the Friday night driver check-in at the Heartland Inn.

Race registration is open and closes at 6 pm on Wednesday, January 21st, so get signed up today!!
