This notice is being sent out to answer a question brought to us recently in regards to Factory / Stock class: Ceramic Bearings
As we shared on December 4 via social media and mass email for Stock classes which came directly from Page 20 of the ISR rulebook under Stock Snowmobile rules-
Stock class snowmobile rules:
In stock and stock- based classes, no change or modification is allowed unless specifically allowed by these rules. If these rules do not specifically allow a change or modification, then it must be assumed that the change or modification is not allowed.
With that being said there is no place in stock class rules that identify ceramic (no seal) or ceramic hybrid (sealed) style bearings as being legal in stock class for use on any component of the machine.
The messages and emailed over the past week are stemming from calls to race depts, sponsors, ISR, and our staff of what is allowed and what is not allowed to compete at ISR sanctioned snowmobile races.
We are at the request of these groups sharing an update on these items BUT ultimately it is the racers responsibility to read and know the rules for whatever class they are entered in.
IF it does not call out in the rulebook that you can make a change or modify something on your snowmobile then you are NOT allowed to make that change.
End of the day we are wanting to ensure everyone shows up ready to race and know that the rules set by ISR will be applied to each and every racer no matter what class you compete in or brand you ride.
We appreciate everyone asking questions and as we have always said “there is no stupid question”, just read your rulebook found at https://isrracing.org/rules/cross-country-2/
ALL racers will need to have a current 2026 race season ISR license, if you have not purchased your ISR license yet make sure you do that before the first race. Head over to https://usacracing.redpodium.com/2026-isr-snowmobile-license
33 days left until the start of the 2026 season so if you have not signed up for your series membership get that done today at www.corpowersports.com
The current list of secured race numbers for the 2026 season is posted on the Forms and Rules page of the Cor PowerSports website, no duplicate or letter designation numbers are allowed so pick an open number. If all 3 choices are not available we will send you an email to pick a different number, if you do not respond you will be assigned a number
