20/21 Schedule is SET!!

Good morning!!

It is with great excitement today that we announce the 2020 / 2021 schedule has been filled; Detroit Lakes will be hosting our early Jan race.

This past Wednesday we met via Zoom with the Detroit Lakes Tourism about bringing back the Detroit Lakes 200, with support from the Holiday Inn already in place the Tourism dept. approved bringing the event back for the upcoming season. Originally our goal was a Jan 9/10 date as Jan 2/3 was one of the alternate dates for the Pine Lake race but there is multiple events already on the schedule in Detroit Lakes for the 9/10 weekend and hotel availability was minimal. With that information we asked Pine Lake to adjust their back up date which they did so Detroit Lakes will now fit in the Jan 2/3 date.

There is a lot of history with the Detroit Lakes 200 event and we wanted to bring that back with the new Cor PowerSports National XC Race series.

This event will be a plowed lake race routed entirely on Detroit Lake with pits based in front of the Holiday Inn.

Last week we also spent three days in Northern MN meeting with race venues and finalizing details for their events as well, with that trip and this week’s meeting with Detroit Lakes we will have a nine race season. With that we will have one throw out race from season points BUT the I-500 cannot be your throw out event.

Feb 13/14 I-500 Goodridge, MN
Feb 27/28 Warroad, MN
Mar 6/7 Naytahwaush, MN
Mar 27/28 Bessemer, MI
Apr 10/11 Biwabik, MN

Bessemer & Biwabik will be the MESC format style events as we have done for the past five seasons, with that format Hillclimb and Hill X run on Saturday of those events then Sunday we will route a xc course over the entire ski hill property (snow depending).

We are excited to have the schedule finalized so now we can focus on securing event sponsors and getting the infrastructure in place for the events
